What is your personal and professional background, and how has it prepared you to serve on the Justin City Council?

My name is Steven Teschke I am a Sr. Project for corporate security.  I’ve been in this industry for around 20 years. I manage the financials of the projects from start to finish. I coordinate site-specific equipment, the labor needs. I also coordinate schedules with customers, subcontractors, and other trades to meet required deadlines. I review and or produce engineering drawings for installation of projects. I feel with my experience I could help with budgeting and help the overall changes for Justin TX.

I have lived in Justin TX for a little over 18 years and saw some major changes already from adding more houses, restaurants and making the Hwy 156 wider. My son has played for JYSE for 7years where we have built a bond in this community. I have coached for this league and other leagues here in the Justin area. I would love to help the community grow but also keep the small-town feeling.

Old Town Justin is a vital part of the city’s character and history. What are your thoughts and plans for revitalizing and preserving Old Town Justin while encouraging thoughtful growth?

We need to grow as a community and bring more business to Justin. I would like to bring a community complex to Justin, which I feel will help bring the community together.

We as a community need to work together to keep the community tight, focus on strengthening connections between residents. This would involve hosting more events and encourage the community to participate..

As Justin continues to grow, how will you help the city maintain its small-town charm and close-knit community feel?

Work with my fellow Council to maintain the old town community feel.
To promote balance development in Justin TX, we need to focus on economic growth & community well-being.  

What are your top three priorities for Justin over the next 3–5 years, and how do you plan to accomplish them?

Like everyone else, I would like to work with the other Council to help lower the taxes here in Justin, add more grocery stores, and add more restaurants.

I would also like to get with Council on building a city sports complex for the kids here in Justin as I feel this would not only help us, but we could bring revenue to the city.

I feel being honest to your community, implementing clear policies, providing accessible information, and actively engaging with your community.

Focus on trust, clear communication. Try to demonstrate good intentions, seek your community input.
