Grapes to Wine+
Exciting New Chapter for Old Town Justin: Grapes to Wine+ Coming Soon!
There’s something new fermenting in Old Town Justin, and it’s already turning heads.
The City of Justin has officially received a request for a Specific Use Permit (SUP) for a highly anticipated addition to the heart of the community: Grapes to Wine+, a proposed upscale bourbon and wine bar slated for 112 W. 4th Street.
On Friday, the City shared the news on social media, and for good reason—this isn't just another bar. Grapes to Wine+ is poised to become a vibrant destination offering curated tasting experiences, live music, and educational events, all set in a comfortable, stylish setting that blends indoor charm with outdoor ambiance.
The 1,950-square-foot space was recently acquired and is the future home of this sophisticated concept. More than just a place to grab a drink, Grapes to Wine+ aims to be a social hub for wine and bourbon lovers alike—think premium pours, exclusive club memberships, and intimate gatherings guided by industry experts.
If the name sounds familiar, it should. The founders are no strangers to success. In 2010, they launched the original Grapes to Wine (GTW) in Bartonville Town Center. Their unique approach to wine tastings and community engagement quickly took off, and GTW eventually became home to the largest single-location wine club in Texas, boasting around 400 members. That growth spurred a major expansion—from 1,200 square feet to nearly 6,000—and created job opportunities for locals.
Now, the GTW team is bringing their expertise and passion to Justin with a refreshed concept and a bold vision. With the City’s longtime interest in bringing this kind of business to the area, the stars have aligned for what could become a cornerstone of Old Town’s continued revitalization.
Stay tuned for updates as the permit process moves forward—and start thinking about which friends you’ll invite for that first pour.

LOCAL HISTORY
A Look Back: May Weather in Justin
May has a history of wild weather in Justin, and this month is no exception. But it’s nothing new—back in May 1900, just a few years after the devastating 1896 cyclone leveled the town, Justin faced another serious storm.
That year, a massive hurricane struck the southern coast of Texas, hitting Galveston hardest and tragically claiming between 6,000 and 12,000 lives total. Most of those lives were in and around the Galveston area. As the storm moved inland toward North Texas, it lost some strength but still brought flooding, high winds, and a few tornadoes to the Justin area.
Still shaken by memories of the earlier cyclone, many residents took shelter quickly. And just like before, once the storm passed, the people of Justin got to work and rebuilt their town—again. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1900_Galveston_hurricane
