Justin Breaks Ground on New Fire Station
A big milestone for Justin! On Thursday, the City broke ground on its first-ever new construction project—a brand-new, state-of-the-art fire station at 11042 FM 407. Approved by voters in the 2023 bond election, the project is led by Crossland Construction and FGMA Architects.
The celebration included a traditional Push-In Ceremony for Engine 571 and 572, complete with blessings, a wash down, and the ceremonial push into the bays—honoring their readiness to serve.
This second station will boost emergency response and firefighter capacity across Justin. Thank you to all who came out to support this historic moment! See more photos and details here: City of Justin
Sweet Success at the Justin Heritage Foundation Ice Cream Social

Held at Bishop Park, the event brought the community together for some classic fun. The Foundation hopes to make it even bigger next year—same sweet spot, same great vibes!

LOCAL HISTORY
From Flames to Foundations: The History of Justin's Fire Department

1950’s Volunteer Fire Department
Justin has faced its share of devastating fires over the years. The first struck on December 23, 1899, damaging several downtown buildings. More fires followed—in late 1901, again in 1910, and finally in 1946, each one impacting the heart of the town.
After the 1946 fire, the community had enough. In 1947, Justin officially formed a volunteer fire department. With a Ford truck, a Jeep wagon for equipment, and a newly constructed fire station, the Justin Fire Department (JFD) was born.
What began with a handful of volunteers and basic equipment has grown into a modern department with 60 to 70 firefighters, now responding to over 1,700 calls each year—and rising. From crisis came commitment, and the JFD stands today as a proud symbol of that legacy. The City of Justin Fire Department Transition
