Families with Young Children!
Have you heard about the fantastic program offered by NISD for families with children from infancy to age five? Parents as Teachers provides a wealth of free services, engaging programs for your little ones, and social gatherings for parents beginning this fall but lasting throughout the year.
This is an amazing resource that supports early childhood development while fostering connections among families. Don't miss out on this opportunity to enrich your child's early years and meet other parents in the community! Check it out today!

LOCAL HISTORY
Justin: A Community Who Works Together
Have you ever wondered why there are sidewalks along 4th Street in Justin for about three blocks? Here’s something you may not know: it’s all thanks to a man named W.P. Presto Faught.
Born in 1906 near Justin, Presto married his wife in 1926 and opened a café in town the following year. Unfortunately, in 1941, he lost his eyesight, making it challenging for him to navigate his surroundings.
Fast forward to around 1975, when his friends noticed that Presto was becoming less visible in town. They realized this was due to his difficulty getting around without his sight. In a heartfelt gesture, 65 of his closest friends came together, pooling their resources to have a sidewalk built specifically for him.
That’s right! The sidewalk you see today stands as a testament to a wonderful act of community spirit, created to help Presto navigate his beloved town despite his limitations.
